Megan Kirkpatrick, Au.D., Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Megan Kirkpatrick—affectionately known as Dr. Meg—has returned from the Sunshine State, to join our staff at ASA in Beaver (just north of her hometown). Dr. Meg thrives on the dynamic nature of Audiology, constantly driven by the evolving research, technological advancements, and the opportunity to continue learning and educating. She cherishes the emotional connections that sounds foster, from the laughter in the clinic to the heartfelt goodbyes with loved ones.
Driven by her deep love for learning and teaching, her collegiate journey began with a major in education. After three years in the classroom, she discovered her true passion was elsewhere. She was captivated by the profound impact of communication on people’s lives, and found a special joy in working with individuals who were experiencing communication difficulties. This experience led her to transfer from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg to the main campus in Oakland, to pursue an undergraduate major in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduating in April 2020, Dr. Meg continued her education at Salus University in Elkins Park, PA, where she earned her Doctorate of Audiology, graduating Magna Cum Laude. “With Salus’s being a bio-medical-based university, there was a heavy emphasis on anatomy and physiology classes – not only about the ear but about the entire body and all its systems”. This focus provided her with a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and physiology, enhancing her appreciation for the intricate connections between hearing and overall health.
When Dr. Meg isn’t at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Robbie, and their three beloved pets—Cooper, Murphy, and Stone. On weekends, you can always find them spending time with friends and family.
