Janelle Kisiday, Au.D. , Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Janelle Kisiday is a licensed and Audiologist who received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Pittsburgh. “Dr. Janelle”, as we call her, joined the ASA team in early 2014 after working several years in Richmond and Pittsburgh.
When Dr. Janelle joined our practice, she said working in Beaver was like coming home. “Although I was born and raised in Marion Center, PA, both of my parents and all of my extended family are from Beaver County. As a child, I loved coming to visit my Grandmothers in Beaver and Ambridge. I have always felt a connection with Beaver County due to my strong ties and relationships – the people of Beaver County make me feel at home!”
Janelle is no stranger to the practice of Audiology. “Two of my biggest role models; my mother (Cindy Todd Kisiday) and uncle (Tom Todd) have an Audiology and Speech Pathology practice in Indiana County. It has been a blessing to watch them work so hard to create a respectable, trustworthy business, while being able to make a difference in people’s lives. I was so inspired by their work that I decided that’s exactly what I wanted to do. I want my patients to experience a warm and caring environment when they walk through our office door, to trust me, and to know that I am providing them excellent hearing healthcare. The absolute best part of my job is getting to improve the quality of life for not only the patient, but for their families as well. I love being able to build relationships with patients. They always have interesting stories to share, and lots of advice to give! This is a very rewarding career.”
Dr. Janelle accomplishes this by listening to her patient’s lifestyle, communication difficulties and concerns. She works closely with each individual patient to select the best technology available, which she matches to his or her individual lifestyle and budget. She always looks for continuing education opportunities, and is enthusiastic about the new technological advances being made in the field of Audiology.
Dr. Kisiday is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology, the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, and the Golden Key Honor Society.
As an undergraduate student at The Pennsylvania State University, she was awarded the “Alumni Recognition Award for Student Excellence” by the College of Health and Human Sciences. This award is presented annually to an outstanding student in the Communication and Sciences Disorder program for exemplary service to the department and the university. She also received multiple academic awards throughout her academic career.
